help us!

Again and again, I can’t help but think about what’s happening in Zatoka.
Yes, there’s a war going on. Shelling, bombing.
And yes, people can be scared. That’s understandable.
But can what people are doing be considered an adequate response to war and bombing?
A person (if they are human, of course) protects the weak. Helps those in need.
But here…
Even those who remain there are constantly trying to destroy and wreak havoc.
It’s simply unbelievable!
And these dogs appeared there precisely because of those who are now destroying their shelters! They are the ones who drive pregnant and non-sterilized animals out onto the streets. They are the ones who prevent sterilization. They’re the ones who bring the puppies out to this open field and dump them there. Zina and I then work like crazy to catch, treat and vaccinate them… And then we protect them, feed them, and try to keep them alive…
It’s some kind of endless vicious circle…
So when Zina calls and says she can’t take it anymore, I understand. And the next thing she says is, “When I see what’s going on with you, I get up and move on…”
Sometimes I really want to give up and just walk away. Leave. Forget. Erase everything from my memory and just live!
But I can’t do it. Their eyes are always in my mind…
How? How do these people live with this? How can they kill, destroy, abuse them, not feed them, kick them out? How????? Is it really only drones and missiles that keep them awake?
