To all the possible commandments, I would add one more: “Don’t hurt.”

How much meaning, how much depth there is in these words!

How often do we, after a fight, spending hours stuck in traffic, or simply getting out of bed on the wrong side of the bed, inflict wounds on loved ones or friends. With a harsh word, a rude action, or our indifference. Whether consciously or unconsciously—it doesn’t matter.

Humans are delicate and fragile. They are incredibly vulnerable. And those who love us are doubly vulnerable. They open up to us, they trust us, not expecting a trick or a sneak attack.

It’s unbelieveable how easy it is to lose someone. And it’s very scary. But for some reason we think they’ll tolerate us, they’ll forgive us.

And yes, he will endure, he will forgive. Once, twice, three times, until it turns into one big wound. When there’s simply nothing left to love. I, for example, have pretty clear boundaries, and patience isn’t my strong point.

The good mood will definitely return, but the person won’t.

You know, we were sent into this world to love each other. To create our own small, kind, warm world within the big one.

How often we forget this.

But it’s so important to remain human in any situation. To treat those around you with care.

So as not to destroy.

So as not to lose.

So as to preserve what’s most precious in life.

Don’t hurt! This is important. This is priceless!
