At the Last Judgment, your fate will be decided not by the Judge, but by your dog!
When the soul appears before the Great Judge, the Book of Life is opened, and every animal in a person’s life is given a voice, each one speaking the truth. Every one, that is, except dogs. They remember no pain, no hunger, no betrayal. They speak only in defense of their master, even if he has not deserved forgiveness.
And when the Judge closes the book and the gates of hell open, the dog doesn’t leave. It follows its master. The flames scorch the damned, their feet burning. But the man feels no pain because the dog carries them.
And they say that sometimes the Judge looks at this and changes the sentence. Because if there’s love for which someone is willing to burn in hell, then that means there’s still light in that person’s soul.
But is there anyone who will intercede for you at the Last Judgment?
